Our Story

Wearable Landscapes

Our Story

Ship Supply was created by two lifelong friends— Ana and Lissa— who spent their formative years wearing oversized mens clothing working on boats in the San Juan Islands. They set out to design a utilitarian uniform people wouldn’t get sick of, something practical & beautiful.

After all, isn’t clothing just another way of sharing ourselves with the broader world? More than just the way it’s made or how it looks, but how it feels on the body & what it inspires within. So began the journey to create a small-batch clothing line of wearable landscapes.

Our Process

Our design process is rooted in storytelling. We start by reflecting on our childhood memories and experiences on the water. Each piece is sketched out with a focus on functionality and comfort, ensuring it meets the demands of an active lifestyle while remaining stylish. We also involve our local community in the feedback loop to ensure the final designs resonate with our customers.

Our Materials

We prioritize sustainability and durability in our fabric selection. Inspired by the rugged landscapes of the San Juan Islands, we choose materials that can withstand the elements yet feel soft against the skin. Our collaboration with our mill in Bedford, PA allows us to create custom fabrics that honor traditional craftsmanship while supporting local production.

Our Garments

One of our favorite pieces is the Curtis Top. It's inspired by the oversized work jackets we wore as kids. We designed it to be versatile enough for work and play, with deep pockets to hold tools or shells found along the shore. Each jacket is named after a local landmark or person, creating a connection to our roots and the stories of those who wear it.

The Future of Small-Batch Clothing

We only make a handful of pieces per year— small-batch closet staples designed to layer up and down with the weather. The journey and dedication to working with fabrics, mills & partners in the US is why each piece is so special & durable. Each garment was designed to outlive the original owner; they should be worn often, well-loved & passed on to the next generation. It’s not the easy way to do it, but we know it’s the right way. As other brands push to do things faster & cheaper, we work to slow it down with each piece telling the story of how it was made with love & care.

We envision a future where consumers prioritize quality over quantity. As more people become aware of the environmental impact of fast fashion, we hope to lead the way in promoting the value of small-batch clothing. Our goal is to inspire a community that appreciates the craftsmanship behind each piece and understands the importance of investing in timeless wardrobe staples.
